LESS DOWNTIME WITH FASTER MANUFACTURING

There are many features of WAM® for replacement parts in mining, particularly when traditional manufacturing processes like cast, forged, and subtractive methods can have long material lead times.

With WAM® as there is little to no lead-time to access billets, to create suitable moulds or to resource the necessary materials for manufacture, fabrication time with is generally weeks, not months.

Our ASME standard wire feedstock for fabrication, which we select from a list of local and validated suppliers, allows us to focus on quality and material benefits for your part. The ease of access to wire feedstock paired with the range available has a positive effect on production time.

WAM® also allows for large to small scale geometrically complex shapes to be manufactured near-net. Generally, this means less time for machining and finishing, another time-saving feature in production.

Additionally, with AML3D®s proprietary software WAMSoft®, it is possible to plan pathways for deposition digitally; simulation through our digital platform results in part success before the manufacture starts. It is saving time and cost while ensuring the success of part manufacture.

OPTIMISING HIGH WEAR PARTS FOR MINING

WAM® is optimising wear parts in mining, with Design for Additive Manufacture (DfAM).

In high stress and hostile environments, wear on parts is inevitable. In scenarios where parts are wearing excessively, AML3D® can review the design of the part, and improve it; removing weaknesses to create an optimised part.

We know with the extensive range of wire stock available we can select an alloy that can provide higher values for YS & UTS, providing superior mechanical properties than traditional parts, providing superior mechanical properties. Your part will wear slower, culminating in less operational disruptions due to failures, less inventory, and higher efficiencies.

For obsolete parts, WAM® is the perfect alternative to source a replacement. Our WAMSoft® technology enables us to optimise your obsolete part and transform it with our in-house DfAM process.

Our DfAM process includes splicing and digital simulation, which ensures that your part is optimally enhanced. AML3D® can work with you, and your specific part requirements, making sure your replacement part needs are met and manufactured in compliance to Global Standards.

Our process is highly adaptable to virtually any material, often resulting in superior property outcomes resulting from the Direct Energy Deposition (DED) process.

For additional properties, parts can be heat-treated, coated or used as a feature addition, supporting traditionally manufactured parts.
