WAM® Materials for Metal 3D Printing

Diverse material range, diverse material application

WAM® Materials

ARCEMY® and WAM® offer one of the widest varieties of metal materials for manufacture compared to other metal additive manufacturing technologies. Using certified wire feedstock, the WAM® process is highly adaptable to virtually any weldable material and often results in superior property outcomes; there are close to 30 feedstocks that AML3D has tested and printed with across aluminium, titanium, copper, and nickel alloys as well as steel and stainless steels. Independent testing of parts produced by ARCEMY® and WAM® have shown higher strength properties and improved fatigue resistance. To produce improved material performance, there are over 25 parameters that can be managed within AMLSoft™, the driving software of ARCEMY® metal 3D printing systems.

Aluminium

Aluminium is a widely used metal in part manufacturing due to its favourable properties. It is a lightweight, non-magnetic, and non-toxic metal with excellent corrosion resistance. These characteristics make it suitable for various applications across industries, such as Maritime, Aerospace and Space.

Copper Alloys

Copper alloys are widely used in part manufacturing due to their excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance, and mechanical properties. Parts made with copper alloys are known for their increased strength and improved resistance to corrosion, making the material suitable for various industries, including Defence, Maritime and Oil & Gas.

Nickel Alloys

Exhibiting exceptional mechanical properties, including high strength, toughness and ductility, Nickel alloys are suitable for parts used in hostile environments involving corrosive chemicals, high temperatures and seawater, making it ideal for application in Chemical Processing, Oil & Gas, and Maritime industries.

Stainless Steel & Super Duplex

Stainless steel and super duplex stainless steel are two specialised types of steel alloys that offer enhanced corrosion resistance, making them ideal for part manufacturing in demanding environments. Suitable for high-corrosion and aggressive environments, stainless and super duplex stainless steels are often used in Chemical Processing, Oil & Gas, and Maritime industries where corrosion resistance is highly valuable, and integrity of the part is paramount.

Steel

Steel is one of the most used materials in part manufacturing due to its versatility, strength, durability, and cost-effectiveness. One of the key advantages of steel and Wire-arc Additive Manufacturing is its exceptional tensile strength, making the material suitable for large-scale parts requiring structural integrity and load-bearing capability.

Titanium

Titanium is a highly desirable metal for part manufacturing due to its exceptional combination of properties, particularly its high-strength-to-weight ratio. It is a valuable material often used to manufacture high-performance parts in Aerospace, Space, Maritime, Oil & Gas and Defence industries.
