Steel Steel ER120

ER120S-G wire is composed of alloying elements to provide specific mechanical properties. Typically, ER120S-G contains significant amounts of chromium (Cr), molybdenum (Mo), and sometimes small amounts of other elements such as nickel (Ni), vanadium (V), and manganese (Mn); this specific composition enhances the strength, toughness, and resistance to high-temp environments of the as-deposited parts.

Like ER110S-G, ER120S-G is best suited to applications requiring high strength, cracking and impact resistance, such as pressure vessel fabrication and heavy equipment manufacturing; however, ER120S-G is more widely known for its high tensile strength and toughness, allowing for strong and reliable WAM® parts that can withstand heavy loads and dynamic forces.

Mechanical properties, including tensile and yield strength, can be improved through specific parameter control provided by AMLSoft™ for ARCEMY® metal 3D printing systems.

In WAM® part manufacture, ER120S-G is best suited for large format additive manufacturing, where parts are more than 150 kg or are over 400 x 400 mm in size.
