Initially designed for welding austenitic stainless steel alloys containing chromium (Cr) and nickel (Ni), ER304 offers good weldability, enabling the production of high-quality welds with minimal defects when used for Wire Additive Manufacturing. Exhibiting excellent corrosion resistance in a wide range of environments, including acidic and alkaline solutions, ER304 is best suited for making medium to large-scale parts used within the chemical processing space.
Mechanical properties, including tensile and yield strength, can be improved through specific parameter control provided by AMLSoft™ for ARCEMY® metal 3D printing systems. AMLSoft™ carefully controls process parameters, such as welding current, travel speed, and shielding gas to ensure successful manufacturing outcomes.
