Inconel 622 is a nickel-based superalloy specifically designed for high-temperature applications that offers excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion. While it is not as widely known or commonly used as other Inconel alloys, it is employed in Wire Additive Manufacturing (WAM®) processes for specific applications.
Inconel 622 is suitable for manufacturing large Gas turbine components, combustion chamber parts, and Aerospace applications in high-temperature environments, as it retains its mechanical strength and integrity at elevated temperatures.
Demonstrating excellent resistance to oxidation and resistance to highly corrosive environments makes Inconel 622 suitable for exposure to aggressive gases and substances.
AML3D’s ARCEMY® and AMLSoft™ have specific processing parameters for Inconel 622 use in WAM® applications. Appropriate process parameters, such as welding current, travel speed, and shielding gas, are carefully controlled to ensure successful manufacturing outcomes.
