Titanium Titanium CP-Ti

ERTi-2 is an unalloyed, commercially pure titanium (CP-Ti) alloy known as Grade 2. It is composed of approximately 99.2% titanium, with small amounts of oxygen (O), hydrogen (H), iron (Fe), and other elements.

One of the critical advantages of ERTi-2 wire feedstock for ARCEMY® and WAM® is its outstanding corrosion resistance. It exhibits excellent resistance to a variety of corrosive environments, including seawater, chemical solutions, and oxidizing and reducing environments.

ERTi-2 offers moderate strength when combined with WAM®, the materials’ superior corrosion-resistant properties make it most suitable for applications in marine environments, chemical processing, and other hostile conditions.

ARCEMY® and the near-net shape part production that Wire Additive Manufacturing offers, makes metal 3D printing in ERTi-2 an affordable solution when compared to traditional manufacturing methods, such as billet machining, where cost of material is often lost to waste (swarf).

AML3D’s ARCEMY® and AMLSoft™ have specific processing parameters for commercially pure titanium in WAM® applications. Appropriate process parameters, such as welding current, travel speed, and shielding gas, are carefully controlled to ensure successful manufacturing outcomes.
