European Patent Granted

Highlights

  • Grant of a European patent for AML3D’s WAM® process strengthens AML3D’s competitive advantage in the EU.
  • The patent re-enforces the market-leading capabilities of AML3D’s ARCEMY® systems as point-of-need manufacturing solutions.
  • AML3D is positioned to target European sales opportunities as the only Additive Manufacturing company with a European process patent.

AML3D Limited (ASX: AL3) (“AML3D” or “the Company“) is pleased to announce the granting of a European patent (‘patent’) for its Wire Additive Manufacturing (WAM®) process. The patent from the European Patent Office is aligned with the Australian patent granted in June 2021, and provides coverage over AML3D’s method and apparatus for manufacturing 3D metal parts.

The European process patent provides additional protection for AML3D’s Intellectual Property and is further validation of the Company’s market leadership in advanced metal 3D printing solutions. Being the only additive manufacturing company to be granted a European process patent positions AML3D as the Wire Additive Manufacturing technology leader in Europe.

While the Company’s immediate focus is on scaling up sales of its ARCEMY® systems to industrial manufacturers within the US Defence, Marine and Aerospace industries, AML3D plans, over the medium term, to leverage its European technology leadership and US scale up playbook to target sales to OEMs supporting the European Defence, Marine and Aerospace industries. AML3D’s technology advantage provides clients with customised components, manufactured with significantly reduced time and costs, to de-risk their supply chains.

AML3D Interim CEO Sean Ebert said:

This is a significant milestone for our company and our technology journey. The granting of this patent is further validation of our proprietary technology and also secures our position as a global provider of a major industrial metal 3D Printing process. The market demand for advanced wire feedstock additive manufacturing, that can address supply chain risk, deliver time and cost savings and better ESG outcomes continues to accelerate. This additional international process patent protection will further strengthen our position in a significant and growing addressable market
